”Social media should stimulate disagreement”

The algorithms governing social media promote polarization in the public debate. By stimulating disagreement social media could instead contribute to a more nuanced debate on various social issues. This is the view expressed in an opinion piece written by Rasmus K. Rendsvig and co-authors and published in the Danish magazine Information.

Rasmus, a member of the research group LUIQ, is a doctoral student in theoretical philosophy in Lund and does research on social media in the project Knowledge in a digital world.
